Events
School events bring learning to life and play an important role in shaping our school culture. They give students the chance to build confidence, connect with others, and celebrate their achievements. Events also provide families with meaningful opportunities to be part of school life and share in their child’s journey.
At Bathurst Public School, our events include:
- an annual school concert at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre
- sports carnivals
- open classrooms and school tours
- Harmony Week, NAIDOC, Easter Hat Parade and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- participation in Schools Spectacular, Festival of Choral Music and eisteddfods
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- graduation and other celebrations.

Father’s Day BBQ Breakfast & Jersey Day
Date: Friday, 4th September
Our P&C Father’s Day BBQ Breakfast will be held from 7.00am–8.45am. We warmly invite all fathers, grandfathers and significant men in our students’ lives to come along and enjoy breakfast with us at school.
Friday 4th September is also Jersey Day. Students, staff and families attending our Father’s Day Breakfast are invited to wear their favourite sporting jersey to help raise awareness of organ and tissue donation. No donation is required, just wear your jersey and show your support.
Jersey Day holds a particularly special place in the hearts of our BPS community, as we also take time to remember our dear, sweet friend Cathy Kassis, three years since her passing.
R U OK? Day
Date: Thursday, 10th September
In Week 8, BPS will recognise R U OK? Day, a National Day of Action reminding us of the importance of checking in with the people around us and asking, “Are you OK?”
Students are invited to wear yellow to school for the day. All students and staff will also enjoy a free BBQ provided by the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) as part of this positive wellbeing experience.
R U OK? encourages everyone to connect with and support those around them. We can all make a difference by remembering four simple steps: Ask R U OK? • Listen • Encourage action • Check in.
REDTEMBER
Date: Wednesday, 16th September
On Wednesday 16th September, we will be turning BPS RED for REDTEMBER! ❤️
Students are invited to come dressed in red and bring along a gold coin donation, with funds raised supporting Ronald McDonald House.
We look forward to seeing a sea of red across our school as we come together to support this wonderful cause.
